How to Apply

1. Meet criteria for CPE.

   • High school diploma or GED, basic college degree (Bachelor’s or Associate’s) preferred

   • Effective reading and writing skills

   • Adequate background in theology to participate in theological reflection and discussion 

   • Ability to reflect on ministry and learn from experiences 

   • Willingness to participate in an adult learning model of education

   • An openness to learn and work with diverse people

2. Complete ACPE Application (available here) and e-mail it to crossroadsofcaring@gmail.com .

3. Ask three references to complete the Reference Form (available here) and e-mail it to address on form.

4. Mail the $50 application fee to Crossroads of Caring, Inc., St. Mark’s and St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1245 Culver Rd., Rochester, NY 14609. Make checks payable to Crossroads of Caring, Inc.

5. Participate in the admissions interview.

6. Acceptance to the CPE program is granted.

7. Student is matched with a partner clinical site, or a clinical site agreement is established with the student’s own site, if appropriate.

8. A second interview at the clinical site may be required, depending on the site.

9. Prospective student completes background checks, including finger printing, for partner clinical sites and submits acceptance paperwork.
