How to Apply for CPE Training

Meet criteria for CPE

  • High school diploma or GED, basic college degree (Bachelor’s or Associate’s) preferred

  • Effective reading and writing skills

  • Adequate background in theology to participate in theological reflection and discussion 

  • Ability to reflect on ministry and learn from experiences 

  • Willingness to participate in an adult learning model of education

  • An openness to learn and work with diverse people

Application Fee

  • Mail the $50 non-refundable application fee to Crossroads of Caring

    • Make checks payable to Crossroads of Caring, Inc.

Interview

  • Once application materials and references have been received, we will contact you to participate in the admissions interview.

    • This will take place over Zoom and will be conducted by one of our ACPE Certified Educators and a member of our PAC.

Acceptance to the CPE program is granted.

  • Student is matched with a partner clinical site, or a clinical site agreement is established with the student’s own site, if appropriate.

  • A second interview at the clinical site may be required, depending on the site.

  • Prospective student completes background checks, including fingerprinting, for partner clinical sites and submits acceptance paperwork.
