Crossroads of Caring is a center for spiritual care formation and education serving the greater Rochester community by offering programs in education and collegial support to spiritual caregivers. We believe that spirituality is essential to wholistic health and we train people to be part of a skilled spiritual care workforce.

Upcoming CPE Unit Information

Applications are being accepted for the 2024 Extended CPE Units.  Applicants may have their own clinical site or be assigned to one of our ongoing partner sites. All CPE units, regardless of length, require 400 hours of experiential (300 hours) and instructional class (100 hours) time. Please note: Some Crossroads of Caring clinical placement sites may require proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

Candidates are accepted on a rolling basis and clinical placements are made based on student preference and site availability. Start dates are tentative based on the number of applicants.

Tentative 2023-24 Unit Dates:

April 2024 - September 2024. 26-Week Multi-level Hybrid Unit

October 2024 - April 2025. 26-Week Multi-level Hybrid Unit

Application deadlines:

February 15, 2023 (for April 2024 start)

August 15, 2024 (for October 2024 start)

Clinical Pastoral Education

Our Clinical Pastoral Education program will prepare you to give spiritual care in critical environments. CPE is a rigorous education program consisting of both group instruction and experiential practice. Crossroads of Caring is an ACPE accredited CPE center and provides the highest standard of spiritual care education and formation.  

Trainings for Agencies and Faith Communities

Need a training for your organization or congregation? Want your congregants to learn about Compassionate Listening? Need a group for Pastoral Peer Support & Consultation? Want to learn more about spiritual care that is research informed?

 

Leadership Peer Groups

Need help putting together a peer group (a colleague group for pastoral professionals)?  We can help.  Both individuals looking for a peer group and groups willing to accept new members can post with us.  Want pastoral consultation as a part of your peer group structure?  Let us know.
